Burkmann Feeds is a company dedicated to the wellbeing of animals, and the people who own and care for them. We are committed to operating our business in an honest, ethical manner. We value every member of our organization, and encourage them to keep faith, family, fun and feed as priorities for life.

Our History

Burkmann Feeds began operations in 1978, when longtime friends and University of Kentucky classmates David Williams and Jerry Germann purchased a former Purina facility adjacent to the railroad switching yard in Danville, Kentucky. In 1990, Eugene Myatt opened a retail location in Glasgow, beginning the Burkmann Feeds of Glasgow branch. Over the past 50 years, Burkmann Feeds has experienced dramatic growth, largely due to our focus on providing a high level of product integrity in both textured and pelleted feed products for all classes of livestock.

Opened store in Glasgow, Kentucky
– Eugene Myatt, Partner

Began producing feed in Glasgow, Kentucky- 70k sqft. facility with rail service

Added nutritionist, Dr. Tim Shirley

Burkmann Glasgow purchased Pan American Mills, Bowling Green, Kentucky.
Moved production to Glasgow.

Opened store in Edmonton, Kentucky.
Russell Hernandez Manager- Retail Sales and Manufacturing Facility

Formed Burkmann Information Technologies (computer systems, networking, repairs)
– Barry Key, Managing Partner

Added nutritionist, Dr. Chris DePew

Opened store in Bowling Green, Kentucky
– Tony Deckard, Manager

Purchased M&W Milling and created Burkmann Columbia

Opened the Organic manufacturing facility in Summer Shade, Kentucky.
Added Dr. Charles Townsend, DVM & Nutritionist.

Purchased The Farmer’s Market and moved the Bowling Green location to Nashville Road
– Heather Ragan, Manager

Opened new location in Columbia
– Woody Wilson, Manager

Burkmann Feeds of Glasgow, family of stores and manufacturing facilities, named new COO.
– Russell Hernandez, Chief Operating Officer
